Voivodes’ Hall | Romanian Cities Summit, Main Stage
Located on the upper floor, this is the most beautiful and monumental room of the palace, uniquely ornamented compared to the other halls. The hall owes its name to a famous portrait gallery of Moldavia’s rulers, beginning with Decebal, Trajan, and Aurelian, continuing with the founders of the medieval state, and following the lineage of the region’s leaders up to King Carol II.

The Palace of Culture in Iași, built between 1906 and 1925 according to the plans of architect I.D. Berindey, stands out for its remarkable dimensions. At the time of its completion, the 55-meter-high central tower made the Palace the tallest building in the city. The structure features a ground footprint of 7,330 sqm and a total floor area of 34,236.35 sqm.

“Henri Coandă” Hall | Palace of Culture
The entrance to the “Henri Coandă” Hall is flanked by two pedestals that no longer hold their original busts. They still bear the inscribed names of former Ministers of Justice: Matei B. Cantacuzino (1855–1926) and Gheorghe Mârzescu (1834–1901). These two busts were originally highlighted by lavish backgrounds crafted from “Byzantine mosaic.”
